Beneficiaries:

Direct: 225 officers and decision makers of 15 Portuguese, 20 Andalusian and 10 Bulgarian Local Authorities - from a total of 702 Local Authorities informed.
Other: 180 local civil society stakeholders - schools, universities, organisations, private sector, public institutions, individual citizens - and European public opinion, targeted through national/local media and web 2.0 communities as strategic dissemination groups.


Objectives:

Global Objective: to promove coherent development policies at glocal level and to mobilise active participation in MDG's achievement and poverty reduction.
Specific Objective: to enhance Local Authorities as a key actor in sustainable development and decentralized cooperation for development.


Results and Activities:

R1: 'Goals to Glocal Towns' campaign promoted jointly with 225 officers and decision-makers of LA and local civil society, as advocacy tool for coherent glocal development.

  • Workstream 0: Management and Evaluation (Constitution of a Steering Committee, Secretary Office, Transnational Advisory Council, LA Focal Point and Local Steering Groups, monitoring 5 Goals implementation);
  • Workstream 1: Glocal Advocacy and Visibility: production of materials and tools; glocal advocacy campaign.

R2: Officers and LA decision-makers informed, mobilized, trained and committed to act glocal development.

  • Workstream 2: Training and Monitoring: goals implementation monitoring; training and mobilizing.

R3: Local, European and Global partnerships strengthened, enhancing sustainable development and decentralized cooperation for development, as means of achieving MDG and poverty reduction.

  • Workstream 3: Networking and partnership building: national events and international conferences; best practices exchange; networking and partnership building.
