Twinning Protocol: Loures and Água Grande

On June 22 the signing of a twinning protocol was carried out between the Municipality of Loures and the Água Grande Municipality. Symbolic act - since the municipalities have already developed projects in partnership (see, for example, the Program for Strengthening the Decentralized Actors) - was attended by technicians of both Municipalities, Municipal Services of Loures, the Consul of Sao Tome and Principe in Lisbon and IMVF.
The Mayor of Loures, Mr. Carlos Teixeira, reaffirmed the willingness and availability of both the City Council and the Municipal Services to help and collaborate with Água Grande, highlighting the roll of experience the municipal services have to share in several areas.
In turn, the Mayor of Agua Grande District, Dr. Ekeneide Lima dos Santos, emphasized the role of Portuguese cooperation in the development of Sao Tome and Principe, stating its strong desire to learn with Portugal. The Mayor mentioned, also, the potential of his district in the areas of tourism, agriculture and fishing, launching the suggestion for future exchanges between entrepreneurs of these areas. Ended, noting that the twinning between the two municipalities - with the resulting projects - are a model and an example to follow.
